I completed my summer internships at two of India's premier public sector enterprises: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and Engineers India Limited (EIL). These experiences provided hands-on exposure to heavy machinery maintenance and engineering design processes.

Steel Authority of India (SAIL)

At the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), one of SAIL's largest integrated steel plants, I worked in the Traffic & Raw Materials (TRM) Department.

My primary project involved assisting in the maintenance of 3 Diesel-Electric Locomotives, managed under RITES. This included studying the mechanical and electrical subsystems of the locomotives, understanding their maintenance schedules, and observing the practical challenges of keeping heavy-duty transport vehicles operational in a high-stress industrial environment.

Engineers India Limited (EIL)

Following my time at SAIL, I transitioned to Engineers India Limited in New Delhi, a leading global engineering consultancy and EPC company.

I was placed in the Rotating Equipment Division, where I focused on the procurement engineering of industrial pumps. I studied process flow diagrams and mechanical specifications, ultimately drafting Process Data Sheets that are critical for the correct specification and procurement of pumps for large-scale refinery and petrochemical projects.
